Here’s everything you need to know about them…
How They Work
Hypedome privacy curtains are designed to work with Hype.Wall panels (a set of upholstered privacy panels) which cover up to 70% of a Hypedome pod. By combining the two, you can offer your glamping guests a high level of privacy that they’ll certainly appreciate if they have overly-curious glamping neighbours!
The curtains attach to where the upholstered wall panels finish (using the wall panel’s fixings and eyelet holes on the curtains). They’re designed to affix in one position opposite the dome’s entrance and fasten underneath the wall panels’ edges, making it look like the curtains are framed with a smart geometric border. Timewise, it only takes around an hour to install them, and assembly is a one-person job. You can do it with your own hands or use an open-end wrench #7 for your convenience.
You can either have the curtains draping down and pulled together in the middle. Or they snap into place on the transparent panels of the pod with magnetic buttons. This way, the curtains follow the shape of the dome so that you don’t lose any space inside. Perfect for glampers with a ton of luggage!
The curtains can be neatly rolled up and clipped away when not in use, so the transparent panels form a large panoramic window. This lets your guests absorb the beauty of nature or create an intimate hideaway whenever they like. Any guest can handle these curtains as they are very simple to use.
Why They Are Useful
These tailormade curtains serve several purposes. They:
- Provide complete privacy – crucial for when getting changed or when you simply want to hide from other glampers! (No one likes a nosy parker next door!) Also, they’re handy if you’re using a Hypedome pod as a garden office.
- Completely darken the pod’s interior – the curtains are lined with blackout material so you can sleep comfortably without being woken at the crack of dawn by the sun.
- Prevent overheating in summer – they’ll keep your dome’s interior nice and shady so it doesn’t get swelteringly hot on a sunny day.
- Prevent heat loss in colder months – Hypedome panels are similar to glass which means heat can escape through them. These privacy curtains, along with Hype.Wall panels help insulate Hypedome glamping pods to keep the interiors cosy and snug for longer.
The Colours They Come In
Hypedome’s privacy curtains come in two warm neutral colours, chocolate brown and grey. These perfectly complement the colour schemes of Hype.Wall panels, which come in ‘mocha’ and ‘cloud’, and our Round Carpet products – available in ‘grey’ and ‘beige’. The colours are purposefully dark, which helps hide dirt caused by sticky fingers, muddy dog’s tails, etc.
What The Fabric Is Like
The curtains are made from a weighty hotel-grade high-quality textile that doesn’t easily crease or crumple. Perfect for easy maintenance! They’re also washable – we recommend doing so by hand, just because of the magnets inside the material.
Importantly, our privacy curtains are fire retardant, having been tested to M1, the standard for flame retardant contact drapery.
How They Are Packaged
You know that saying, ‘all good things come in small packages’? Well, it’s definitely true where these curtains are concerned!
The curtains that fit the Hypedome S pod weigh around 3 kg (6.6 lbs) and fold down to a package of about 45 cm x 33 cm. All fastenings are included, along with a separate storage case. For the Hypedome M pod, the package weighs around 5 kg, and the dimensions are just a little larger. (Note that the curtains aren’t compatible with the Hypedome Mini).

Q: Do you have to buy Hypedome privacy curtains at the same time as ordering a glamping pod?
You can… but you don’t have to – you can buy them and fit them at any time retrospectively, which might be helpful if you’re starting a glamping business on a budget.
Q: Can you keep the privacy curtains up all year around?
In terms of storage, if you’re not using your dome(s) over winter, it’s best to take the curtains (and the Hype.Wall panels) down in case any moisture gets inside and affects the fabric. Store them in a dry place until you’re ready to revive your dome!
