Hypedome operations guy and workout enthusiast - by no means a fitness coach.
Today, I wanted to show you a fantastic way to have a great exercise in your Hypedome, using nothing else than your bodyweight and a free app. The best workout routine is the one that you can do consistently. There’s no point in creating an elaborate training plan or purchasing expensive equipment, if you cannot muster sufficient willpower to put the work in. That’s where the 7 minute workout comes in.
The 7 minute workout is a quick and simple way to activate your entire body. It doesn’t require any training apparatus or a gym membership. Only a stable chair may come in handy at times. This routine consists of a series of different, basic movements, such as: pushups, sit-ups, squats, planks, dips, lunges and some cardio-jumping around.
As you can see in our video, you don’t need much space at all. I managed to perform all but one exercise in our Hypedome Garden Gym comfortably, even though a big chunk of the floor area was occupied by a treadmill. I only had to substitute the good old wall sit for something else, as we simply do not have straight walls in our dome.
A single exercise doesn’t last much longer than 30 seconds, so you don’t fatigue any particular muscle group and are able to sustain for the entire routine. There’s also some science behind the way each session is structured, so that you get the maximum benefit in a rather short period of time.
I, personally, use The Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout App (link below) on my phone. I find it classy and well designed. The videos - showing each movement - and the voice instructions are clear and easy to follow. There’s a great plentitude of exercises, pre-set routines and difficulty settings.
After all, the actual 7 minute workout may only be the beginning. It can take you all the way to a full 28 minute cardio blast that will challenge even the very fit among us.
Let me know if you feel like giving it a try!
